If you are over 60, the first thing you should know is that you can attend any group on the timetable that you like. There is no obligation for you to attend an Over 60’s class.
In 2010 we started working in partnership with Lewisham Council to deliver Pilates & Joint Mobility classes for the over 60s. These classes were initially subsidised, and sometimes free to participants. The classes are now self-sustaining and are priced as low as is possible for participants.
These gently paced classes have a social and inclusive feel and have proven themselves to be popular within the local community. Classes begin with standing warm-up routine, before moving down to ‘the mat’ for floor based exercises. These classes are not ‘Chair based’ as is the case with some other Over 60s classes within the borough.
Open to all levels of experience.
The age range of current participants is 60 to 84.
It is essential that you book in advance before attending.
