What is Pilates?

Pilates is an invigorating form of exercise that will improve your core stability, strength and posture. It helps restore your body to balance. As a result you will move more efficiently; achieve a strong core; develop longer, leaner muscles and a sense of well-being.

We believe that good functional movement is your birthright and we do our best to not only work your body in a balanced way from ‘top to tail’, including your fingers and toes, but to also get you thinking about your movement habits and the affect they have not just on your posture, but also your state of mind.
Central to this philosophy is the building of mindful awareness through movement. We seek to enable you to learn good movement patterns, which eventually lead to a sense of ease and grace.
No matter what your level of (in)activity, the Pilates method is a supreme way of offsetting imbalance caused by the lifestyle you lead. We don’t just teach the exercises. We endeavor to build a dialogue with you in class and find the most suitable adaptations to each exercise for each and every person we teach.
Everybody is welcome and we teach all levels of ability. Our group matwork classes have an inclusive feel and we do our best to foster a good communal spirit.
